Default a question, even before starting....

    Hi all,

I'm completely new and I'm working with Windows (XP). Now the question:

If (or better when) I want to install OSCommerce do I need to install extra software on my PC. I mean like apache, PHP, MYSQL,.... or is all the modification done webbased?

Don't shoot me for this probably really dumb question

    Gusto

PS. I've been reading posts, guides,... for days now. So it's not that I'm looking for an easy way out.

Yes, you must have apache, php and mysql installed and working correctly before you can use osCommerce.

    so to be sure

I have hosting under linux with apache, php, PHPmyadmin, sql,....
this I have to install on my local windows PC too? That's probably a search and adventure on its own!!!! Any help available?

Which OSC download do I have to choose? Windows or Linux.

The more I read, the more confused I get

The easiest way to get apache/php/mysql working on windows is:

    http://apache2triad.sourceforge.net/

    Download, run, happy

And get the windows osc zip file.
