First I would like to introduce myself, (I know that should go in the new members area but I'm kinda frustrated right now, please frogive me)

My name is Mike and I feel like a idiot.

That being said, I have installed oscommerce 2.2ms2 three times from my website host. (a very easy operation, just click and wait)

Now everytime I try to change one little bit of text on just about any page, for example : includes\languages\english.php I get a parse error on line XX and my store dissapears.
What is the best way to edit these pages? through my control panel? should I download them with a ftp? then upload the edit? Should I do it through the file manager on my admistration page?

I appolgize for all the questions, but I really want to create a online store that I can have complete control over... and this seems like the only real way to do that without have to pay somebody for something I'm not going to like or have problems with... ect. ect.

Download via FTP. Edit in a good text editor. Upload again.

Your edits must obey all php syntax rules or you will get parse errors. If you don't know php syntax rules, get a good book on the basics. Also visit php.net.
