Default OSCommerce not sending emails

I've just installed OSCommerce and everything seems to work fine...

Except for mail. No emails are ever sent.

I'm thinking this is system related. I have this installed on Mac OSX Server.

What do I need to do to "activate" the mail function?

Same problem. I installed OSCommerce on my winXP-IIS everything works fine but when I install on host (Linux) everything works but email does not send. No error message either.
Do I have to set anything on hosting server?

Check your settings in e-mail option in the admin section Send emails may be set to false. Also the email transport method setting

Email transport method
Defines if this server uses a local connection to sendmail or uses an SMTP connection via TCP/IP. Servers running on Windows and MacOS should change this setting to SMTP.

I'm having the same problem with Mac OS X Server. I think it's some kind of authentication problem but I"m not sure how to fix it.

Default 1.5 Not Sending ANY E-mail for orders or admin users

Is there a way I can get the store to authenticate with my mail server? TCP/IP doesn't work either.

add me to the list of people that can't get email to work. I keep seeing the questions on all the forums and I've not seen ANY solutions. Lets start with this... does ANYBODY have it working? If so... what did you do?
