    Default Installation error....Please help!!!

I'm installing osC on a windows server.

Got through the installation process, connected to the database, but at the end I got the following:

Warning: fopen(.../www/catalog/includes/configure.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in ...\www\catalog\install\templates\pages\install_7. php on line 209

Warning: fputs(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in ...\www\catalog\install\templates\pages\install_7. php on line 210

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in ...\www\catalog\install\templates\pages\install_7. php on line 211

Warning: fopen(.../www/catalog/admin/includes/configure.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in ...\www\catalog\install\templates\pages\install_7. php on line 259

Warning: fputs(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in ...\www\catalog\install\templates\pages\install_7. php on line 260

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in ...\www\catalog\install\templates\pages\install_7. php on line 261

    The configuration was successful!
Clicking on the 'catalog' button, I got the following:

Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user 'ODBC'@'localhost' (using password: NO) in ...\www\catalog\includes\functions\database.php on line 19
Unable to connect to database server!
Clicking on the 'admin tool' button, I got the following:
Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user 'mysql'@'localhost' (using password: NO) in ...\www\catalog\admin\includes\functions\database. php on line 19
Unable to connect to database server!
Checked the config.php > all values are empty.

Checked your installation guide, which recommends changing permissions before the installation process, but NOT on windows server.

    What am I doing wrong???

    Default RE: Installation error....Please help!!!

first set of issues, the install didn't work because permissio0ns. My guess is tht it couldn't write the configuration files.

second set of problems, after the install didn't work (the file creation didn't create the config.php in includes/ and /admin/includes) you can't connect to a database since the information you need to connect wasn't created (see above area).
    so endith the lesson
