    Default Failed opening required...

    getting the following erro when trying to view the install.php file in my browser.
    Failed opening required 'includes/functions/output.php' (include_path='..') in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\catalog\install\includes\applic ation.php on line 28
    Im sure this has something to do with paths being wrong but I have tried all I can think of and am now asking for help. I am trying to set this up on my local machine as you can see from the path indicated above. HOpe this is enough information to facilitate any assistance.

    Windows based? Apache? IIS?

    This looks like a misconfiguration of the server or root path or something along those lines, as the install script is set to run without any modification or setting of paths.

    Check your server setup.

    Default Same problem !

    Hi,

    I met the same problem. I tried it on Win98+Apache1.3+PHP4.1+MySQL.
    It seems that
    include_path='..'
    is the problem but I did not find where this is set up.
    Thanx for any help.

    I got it !!! Probably it is a speciality of Win98+PHP4. In Windows directory there is php.ini and php3.ini. In both I copied
    include_path= ".;c:\web\apache\htdocs"
    Pls, change the path due to your place of apache instalation.
