| If I decide to make some config changes, like setting up SSL and storing sessions in the database is there a difference between running the install again and making those changes vs. editing configure.php? Does the install just edit configure.php files in /admin /catalog or are there other changes I should be aware of? thanks |

| It is far easier to just open up configure.php and manually make the changes. When osCommerce is fully installed, the installation script must be removed for it to operate securely and without warnings. So in order to re-run the install script, you have to re install it, then re-set permissions on your configure.php files to world writable, yadda yadda yadda... Much easier to pico configure.php and make your changes or FTP in and edit the files...
