Anyone Have SSL Step By Step Instructions?

Hi All,

I found some basic information and get it to work on and off so I need to clear this up with more details. I purchased a key with lets call it abc.com, I did not register the key for anything like secure.abc.com.
When I visit the site the home page doesn't compe up because I'm guessing it's only working under ssl and the first time you get there is http not https. If someone can tell me that all I need to configure is the configure.php, plus give me your config for http & https ( apache.conf stuff ), maybe I can figure out where I'm going wrong... Also maybe where my folders are located may be an issue, currently I wanted everything in one place if possible....

I already used the oscdoc you recommended and configured he confiure file, and have all the keygen stuff complete.
I'm thinkning my problem is related to the apache configuration in wanting to use the same directory for both http and https.
Thats why I wanted to see someone's oscommerce http.conf entries to see where I went wrong.

I'm hoping that resolves the fact that I can't surf the normal http stuff, and then checkout with the https....
