php-error: register_globals is disabled in php.ini

Hi!

os: winxp pro
webserver: iis5.1
sql: mysql3.23.52
php: php4.2.3

i copied the files to the recommendet directories ( snapshot-20021027) as written in the latest documentation. after first time calling http://www.yourserver.com/catalog/install/install.php i got the error. so i went onto php.ini and changed the entry for register_globals = Off to register_globals = On, but every time i call the script this s***ing error occures!

Can i do anything about? I restarted the machine after changing the php.ini file (because error came), but helped nothing.....

I had the same error and then I searched for the php.ini found a php.ini and changed, restarted and nothing changed. Then I went dirctly into the C:\windows directory and looked for the php.ini and found it opened it and it was not altered so I altered and it worked.

But now I have another problem.....
