    Default Ms2 2.1 upgrade to 2.2 help

Currently running Ms2 2.1 would like to upgrade to 2.2. Is this completely unneccessary? or are their enough changes in the newer version to warrent the upgrade? if so is there a manual on how to do the upgrade? I just dont want to totally screw it up being that I am fairly new at this.

    thank you
    Melissa

    There is not a ms2 2.1. There is only a 2.2 ms2.

There is an old version called 2.1 but it is not available for download anymore.

What version do you really have? I bet you have 2.2 MS2. Are you looking to upgrade to osCMax?

    A: Dear Valued Customer.
Thank you for the word to support.

You are using oscommerce 2.1 version at the moment. Please note that if you are not an experienced oscommerce user, we do not recommend you to upgrade. Also, when installing oscommerce, the system asked you to delete "/install" file in order to provide a proper functioning of your online store. If the file was indeed deleted, you are not able to upgrade from the control panel.

If you are sure that you do need an upgrade, please download 2.2 oscommerce version from www.oscommerce.com web site.

    Thank you.

Should you have any further questions, feel free to contact us 24/7.
    With regards

Ok, if that is the case, you are using a really old version of osCommerce. I cannot offer much help, as I have not used 2.1 in over 3 years. Upgrading should not be too difficult. I think the standard osCommerce 2.2 offers an upgrade script, but I am not sure.

Since this is not an osCMax related topic, I am moving it to the correct forum.

You posted originally in the osCMax forum. I moved it to the osCommerce Modification forum, which is more appropriate.

Cost? This is free software so there is no cost, just your time to do the upgrade. I suggest you install osCMax in a directory along side your existing shop, so you can customize it to your needs and then migrate your data over once it is looking the way you like it.
