Help. ..getting the following parse error:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected '.', expecting ')' in /hsphee/local/home/bt/jewelrystore.net/shop/admin/includes/functions/database.php on line 13

Here is line 13 of database.php:

function tep_db_connect($server = DB_SERVER, $username = DB_SERVER_USERNAME, $password = DB_SERVER_PASSWORD, $database = DB_DATABASE, $link = 'db_link') {

have u made any changes to database.php file?
if u have the oscom package available at ur own personal pc, copy the database.php file from there and overwrite the one available at the server. hope dat will solve ur problem.
