Default Installation problem?

At step 7 of the installation I get the message that the configuration was successful. When I click Continue a new window opens and shows the file /install/index.php, the installation starts over again. And if I click on Admin instead I get the message: 1046 No database selected. Select configuration_key as cfgKey, configuration_value as cfgValue from configuration.

Please help anyone

Does your server have Fantastico? I suggest that you use Fantastico to auto install oscommerce. If not check your config file. Seems like you did not define your database for oscommerce. If you need more help let me know.

It doesnīt. Where can I find Fantastico.
I have installed OSC on other Win2000 servers without this problem.
What might be the problem?
What to check in the config file?

I suggest checking your php settings. Make sure safe mode is off and register globals is on. Make sure that your configure.php files are not Read Only when you check their properties in Windows Explorer.

Then, during the install, make sure you select to store sessions in MySQL database.

Let us know if any of those steps help.

Well Fantastico comes with most standard hosting plans on the internet with cpanel. Fantastico just auto installs scripts correctly. If you don't have it then you got to do it manually. Like I said before make sure you edit your condigure.php file correctly this is important.
