Default SSL setup

I know this is a bit off topic but im stuck here. I have everything running great except SSL. Im running on win xp pro with apache and i know mod_ssl and open ssl is the way to go, but i cant seem to get it running, ive succefully used cygwin to configure open ssl but im stuck on mod_ssl, do i have to use a open source folder tree of apache to configure it. (excuse my bad terminology, brain is kinda fried here and i really need some help)
