Default Problem with the installation page

I'm trying to install OSCommerce 2.2 to the localhost server (my C: drive), but I can't start the installation from my browser (http://localhost/catalog/install/index.php). I only get this error message:

Warning: main(includes/functions/general.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in C:\wwwroot\catalog\install\includes\application.php on line 22

Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'includes/functions/general.php' (include_path='.;C:\php5\pear') in C:\wwwroot\catalog\install\includes\application.php on line 22
I have PHP Version 5.0.2 and MySQL 4.0.22 installed. I read somewhere that OScommerce 2.2 aren't fully compitable with PHP 5, could that be the problem? What should I do? I'm new to this (no suprise) so don't be too technical...

Now I know what the problem were. My version (got it with a magazine) I installed weren't complete, a few files were missing.

i have the same problem in that i have uploaded the files to my webspace and it now and when trying to run the install program the message i get is :Fatal error: Failed opening required 'includes/functions/general.php' (include_path='') in /home/sites/site40/web/catalog/install/includes/application.php on line 22: any ideas ?i dont know what files are missing as im sure i uploaded the enitire catalog folder,some other forum was saying that i should make sure that the files were uploaded in ascii mode which it was ....
