Default New category does not create new category folder

Hi

Just a newbie insalling this but have a small problem, if anyone can help.

Creating a new category does not create a new folder in the catalog/images directory. At the moment images/ is set to 777.

I have no problems uploading the images for new products, I would just like them to go into the appropriate category folder.

Would any have a suggestion or had this problem and found a solution.

Thanks
Ash

Hi,

Are you talking about making a new category in admin and then the folder does not show up in the images folder under catalog?

If so, it doesn't work this way.

You create a new folder under images just like you would normally do and also on your harddrive.

Then, when you make the new catalog folder in admin you would upload the image from whichever folder it is in.

I am having a similiar problem:
When we go to add a category and the image, the file folder showes up but no name for the category and the image shows and error message that the (image does not exist.

Is there a solution to this?

I am using: tep_snapshot-20030221.zip, and having the exact same problem. Could it be the snapshot?

Nix that idea . . . I just tried a clean install of an old snapshot
( tep_snapshot-20030127.zip ) and have the exact problem.
