Upgrading from OsC 2.1 to 2.2 need help transferring d-base!

Hey everyone, I'm a newb here. Great site

Anyway, *whipes the brown off my nose*, I don't know diddly squat about php or osCommerce and I just set up a site with 2.1. Luckily I have a little programming experience, so the script seems fairly simple to manipulate. however, there was no documentation for v. 2.1 (thank you iPowerWeb for old software!!) so I was forced to upgrade to 2.2. Now that I've done that, I tried to transfer my existing database from 2.1 to 2.2 using myPhpAdmin. Well, the data was trasferred, but a I guess some of the tables didn't match up just right or something and needless to say, I had errors. So I restored my previous database.

Now, last time it took me HOURS to do all of the database work in the first one, I really don't want to do that again. Is there anyway I can avoid having to redo my entire database???

EDIT!!! I just noticed I can log into my administration panel without a username or password! How can I fix this!?

EDIT AGAIN: OK, is it weird that I don't have a "default.php"? I'm trying to get rid of the "What's new here?" text, and the tutorial says I need default.php, BUT it's not there! Grr...
