Default Moving between Servers

My problem is that I have moved my catalog from one server to another, but additionally it has to move usernames, pw, and databases. I installed oscommerce on the new host, backed up the catalog configure.php, then copied all the old files over the new host files. I then copied the backup config back over.

This almost worked. The site looked right, but all the products were default. If I change the database location to point to the old server in the configure.php it works again, but I have to figure out how make it work on the new server.

Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Tyler

did you make a backup of your database and write this to your new db?

You can use myphpadmin to backup the structure and data of your old database and then copy this to your new db.

Hope this sheds some light. If you need a better explanation you can im me or post here.

or better yes and easier for a newb, since you've already got your store on new server installed. Just go to your store on old server, via ip address or domain name if DNS not propagated yet, do a backup from within admin, ftp that backup to new server in /admin/backups then use the new stores admin to do a restore using the newly uploaded file.

Or if all else fails, stick to SSH
