I dont understand the "Snapshot" idea?

Greetings all,

I feel like a putz because I dont understand the concept of the snapshot.
What is it? And what is CVS?

One more question... OSCommerce is a addon script in the control panel of my admin page. It installs the admin directory in the root folder of the program (which I called 'catalog'). According to the OSCdox, there should be two different directories. Once for 'admin' and the other for 'catalog'. Since the server sort of auto-installs everything, I dont think I can change it. Is this a problem?

Snapshot is just a "picture" of the current development - warts and all, sometimes a snapshot breaks something that was working yesterday, sometimes all is well.

As far as your directories go I have osC installed a couple of different ways (even one that sounds similar to yours except mine works) I have one with admin under catalog and one with them both at the same level, if you are still having problems install it again in a new directory.
