Petter,

Regarding where you install the files, it shouldn't matter, except both the admin and catalog dirs must be in the web accessable tree. There is no 'correct' way. You can put your catalog dir at one path and your admin at another...

The method suggested in the guide is simple and should work. I have tested it on over 50 different servers and about 12 different configurations and it installss perfectly every time.

Your password error looks like a problem writing to the database... Check to see if there is any user data in your db...

Petter
Default Moving ahead, but still somewhat confuced...

Thanks msasek for all your input,
I'm learning by the minute now, this forum is really great!

However I really need a clear answer to the following:

Am I supposed to upload ALL file to BOTH the httpdocs- AND the httpsdocs-folder?

I'm runnig my testinstall this way now, and it swiches between secure/unsecure all the time... It seems wierd to me, as all changes must be done twice, please let me know.

I guess I'm on a 'shared certificate' server... ..security-warnings pop up all the time...

Thanks again !

Petter
