    Default database problem - I think

    Hi all

    I have just installed osCommerce 2.2 Milestone 2
    but when I try to reach a site in my catalog I just get this error message:

    1146 - Table 'mysql.banners' doesn't exist

    select banners_id, date_scheduled from banners where date_scheduled != ''

    [TEP STOP]

    When I try to reach a site in my admin directory I get this error message:

    1146 - Table 'mysql.configuration_group' doesn't exist

    select configuration_group_title from configuration_group where configuration_group_id = '1'

    [TEP STOP]

    Does anyone have a solution?

    Thanks

    Hi Svanelas,

    Several things may cause your difficulty, first is if you have an old version of oscommerce running and you just placed the new files and you tried using the old database, second is you might have installed the database and it did not go through correctly at the first time, third is that you installed the oscom with an existing database but it was not able to overwrite/update the old existing database. These are just few of the reason you are having this difficulties.

    What you can do is try to backup your existing database (if you already have an old one) then drop the all existing tables for oscom, second approach is that you may wish to use the upgrade option of the oscom installer to update your database. If this is a new install without any other program using the database you have for oscom, just clear everything up and start from scratch using the installer.

    P.S. This is definitely a database problem wherein your oscom installation is not seeing your database tables
