Default Installed as per instructions, but get "Index Of"?

Hi,

I installed OS Commerce 2.2 exactly as per the instructions. However when I go to my web site all I get is a screen that says "Index of", "Parent Directory" & then "Catalog" & "cgi-bin".

If I click on "catalog" I get to the expected index page & all is OK from there.

I set up the .htaccess file, I think, but the instructions were vague. Should it be a *.txt, as in .htaccess.txt or should it have no extension at all? I saved it as a *.txt so I don't know if this has something to do with it. The instructions do not state either way.

By the looks of this problem I should save the unzipped files straight to the html directory, bypassing the /catalog directory. Am I right?

Confused, confused, confused.

Thanks for your help.

Mike

Mike,

If you wish to pop your catalog right away by visiting your domain, you are actually correct on the last part that you said, unzip them all inside the html so the catalog comes up by simply visiting your domain like this http://www.mikesdomain.com, also regarding the htaccess, since I presume you are working on a Windows environment, you can save it as htaccess.txt first, this is because Windows do not accept filenames that starts with a dot, after upload, you will need to rename it as .htaccess, please take note that it starts with a dot and to extension at all
