edit your php.ini. Find the line that references safe mode and make sure it = off

Where do I find php.ini on my hosted website or is that not in my directory structure and therefore not administrable by me?
Doug, if you are on a shared server. you will not be able to edit php.ini. You need to contact your host and see if they will make the change for you. It depends on the host. Some will change it, some will not. If not, look for another host.![]()

I am only trying this because I have a error when going into HTTPS giving the following error
I have been advised that this can be avoided by not having SAFE MODE On, I also think that if I duplicated the relevant files that I "could" avoid the error, or is this wrong?Warning: Unknown(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/home/catchyc/public_html/catalog/login.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/secure2/) in Unknown on line 0
Warning: Unknown(/home/catchyc/public_html/catalog/login.php): failed to create stream: Operation not permitted in Unknown on line 0
Warning: Unknown(): Failed opening '/home/catchyc/public_html/catalog/login.php' for inclusion (include_path='') in Unknown on line 0![]()
I have not had much experience with this, as all my servers run with safe mode off. But you should be able to place the files within the correct path on the server. Let me know how this works for you.
I believe osCommerce can run on a server that has PHP in safe mode, but I have never had the opportunity to try![]()

Nothing further on this yet, but I am still tracking it down with my ISP and when it is solved I am sure it would be a useful tip for your guide.
I have had feedback from my ISP who says that safe mode is Off so this might not be the problem. I have asked if it was off on the secure server and my host (just incase there are 2 involved here) when I know I will update this thread.
I am on the right track, my ISP has made a/some changes and I have asked them for a explanation of what they had to change so it might be used as a tip?
Now all I have to get right is the images in HTTPS mode!![]()
