| Probably answered a thousand times already, but I'm tired and a bit cranky, so I hope you'll understand.. Installed everything fine, came to complete screen at step 5 with links to admin and catalog. Neither work! Catalog says 'cannot connect to database" and admin has a '404 not found" Pretty sure about my paths, so really baffled here. I know the dbase was created, and was written to, I can see it in phpmyadmin, so the settings should have been correct? FYI: this is a new host, I am replicating an existing OSC shop from another host, same domain name. (And here begins my nightmare...) I'm using IP and path dir's instead of DNS, but the end result should be the same...(unless somebody changed the rules on me) Last time I had a problem, I got the needed help here, and not on the OSC site, so I'm Baaaaaaaaaaack!! Thanks in advance! Wayne http://www.w-n-jbirds.com http://www.w-n-jbirds.com/shop/ <= broke for now wayne@w-n-jbirds.com |

| Hi Wayne, You and I have talked before on the other forums as we shared problems. And, while I do not have the solution to your problem, I did want to let you know what I have done. Now, my cart is not heavily modifed, but I was having problems with it switching to https automatically. So, I moved to the AAbox hosting which is run by Mike Sasek and he did the install for me and it's runs perfectly after a few bumps the first day. My other host was more expensive and not nearly as helpful with OSC. So, if this has been a thought at all, I'd highly recommend it. I totally and completely understand your frustration with this. | Birdguy, I went to your url : http://www.w-n-jbirds.com/shop/catalog/default.php and aside from the fact that you need to set the permissions on configure.php to 644 and add this to your .htaccess: Code: DirectoryIndex default.php index.php Could you post the IP of the install that is giving you trouble, or is it the above URL? If so, it looks like you have ironed out the main trouble, and are moving on to new problems.
