Default Setting Sort Order for Products?

Greetings-
I know there's a spot to set the sort order for categories and subcategories, but can i do this for products within a category? I have 6 gift certificates in varying amounts that i just added to the catalog (25,50,750,100,150,200) but they don't show up in that order (the order i submitted them to the catalog) They show up something like 100,150,25,50,75,200. How can i get them to appear in descending order?

Thanks,
pete

Hi,

When you put the product into the admin there is a little checkbox on the right that says "sort order". Put your gift certificates in their own folder and then set the order checkbox to 1,2, 3 etc.

Am I right in thinking this reply is incorrect? I need products in a sensible order and can't find any way to set the product order.
There is an oscommerce contribution called 'product order'

http://www.oscommerce.com/community/...ns,911/page,15

but I'd just like to be sure there is nothing in MS Max already that will do this.

Having worked with oscommerce 2.1 and ending up so far from the core product that I had to start again, I am reluctant to add contributions if at all possible. My plan is to follow MS2 MAX upgrade path, so can someone confirm whether there is another way to do the product sort without installing this contribution?

Default Product Sort Contribution V1.3

I found this in the list of contributions for msmax 1.5 but can't find it installed in admin within 1.5.
This contribution would be extremely useful to me. Am I missing something or is ms2-max1.5?

warrenthewindmill, That mod is not in MS2-MAX 1.5.2, nor is it mentioned in the readme file or the feature list here : http://www.aabox.com/info/oscommerce..._features.html

Apologies. I must have seen it and dropped it into the contributions folder for future reference.
