Default Gift Certificate as a Special??

Greetings-

I have a clients who are selling their entire line of massage and body care products online. Currently we have 85 products installed into the cart. They would like to offer Gift Certificates in the Specials section of the cart, but when i go to configure the Specials from the Admin side of things there is a drop-down menu of all the products currently in the cart that i'm to choose from. Can anyone help me set up the Gift Certificate as a Special, but not have it listed as a regular product?

Thanks for your help.

Okay, i added Gift Certificate as a Category and then added Gift Certificate as a product under that heading. Only problem is.... you have to enter a PRICE when adding the product to the catalog. Does that mean i have to enter a $50, $100, $150, $200 gift certificate to the catalog?? Is there a way for the client to enter the amount they would like to purchase as a gift??

thanks,
pete

Pete,

As far as I know you have to enter a price.

There might be a contribution about this. Have you checked at oscommerce.com for a contribution?
