Check your image directory chmod settings ...

Have a quick look through the wiki for more pointers.

    Question Re: uploading images

    What environment?

    What type of file?
    BMP - having a laugh!
GIF - can't be resized effectively
    PNG - should be OK
JPG - what most people use.

Is the file a sensible size to begin with? Uploading a 10Mpixel image is not recommended

    Lightbulb Re: uploading images

osC doesn't have any particular requirements - very basic image handling, compared to 'Max. Subdirectories aren't really used to any degree.
Maybe you have a hardened php environment and catalog/images should be 755 not 777
Any indication in your Plesk error log?

Can't point you in the right direction as I (and clients) use cPanel - hunt around Plesk.
