Default Distorted button and images from catalog

    Hello all,

I yanked out my hair forever and couldn't figure out why the default installation showed distorted images, buttons, etc. Some images did not even show.

If anyone has any idea where I shoulk poke around to correct these problems, please help me. I really appreciate it.

This is what it looks like.
