I installed osCommerce without a hitch, except that it will not send any emails out for anything. I have troubleshot all of the bonehead stuff like Send Email is set to True, Email Setting is set to SMTP. I host this site in-house and have tried running several SMTP programs on the same system osCommerce is loaded on and none will work. I would think it is my SMTP server settings and not the osCommerce settings that are screwing it up except that I also have a phpBB running on that same server and it uses the SMTP server to send email without any problems. Is there any other files I need to modify in order for osCommerce to send mail? Thanks! SM

As best I can tell, the SMTP server that it tries to use is the one defined in your php.ini file. Are you sure you have that set correctly?

I actually did get a fix for this problem a while back. Someone provided me with a real simple mod where I just had to edit a few of the php files and it works great now. Now my struggle is it won't send an extra copy of an email order to an additional email address. When I activate this feature, the screen goes blank when my customers place the order (at what should be the order confirmation page). I've had a couple of people suggest trying a couple of different formats when entering the email address but nothing has worked so far. Maybe it has to do with the mod I am using to get the mail working? If anyone has the same problem mentioned in my first post, email or PM me and I'll send you the SMTP mod. Thanks! SM

I get a lot of PM's from people who have the same SMTP problem I had originally so I wanted to provide the fix for everyone. It's been a really long time since I had to fix this problem but as best I can recall, I did the following: Download the zip file from the link below Extract the contents Open the class.smtp file with a text editor Input your email server settings (use example file to help you) Transfer the "class.smtp" file to \oscommerce...\catalog\includes\classes Make sure your oscommerce configuration is set to use SMTP true, etc. http://69.19.189.145/smtp.zip I hope this helps!
