Just DL os vs2 AND vs3 how do i install

I installed osCommerce Online Merchant v3.0 Alpha 5? Or is this the correct one I should start with, osCommerce Online Merchant v2.2 Release Candidate 2a, I have Down Load both, which one has the uptodate instruction manual i can follow?

Do i have to have a merchant account before i install? if so do anyone know of any CHEAP ones.

Depend on what you want to do. V3 is incompatible with nearly all modifications and contributions. Ver 2.2 is compatible with most. Which one you want to use - depends on what you need. V3.0 is basic - but nearly no options other than what is included. V2.2 - has nothing included but has HUNDREDS of options (though it might be hard and time consuming to add in depending on what you want).

Also consider oscMax - which is the same code base as v2.2 - but with well over 60 modification and contributions already included.
