| I am trying to install oscommerce on my local machine and I cant find the oscommerce database ... any ideas where I can look for it .... thanks |

| Pardon? You have to first load and setup PHP, and MySQL server (if you have not done so yet - both are free). Then when you run the script to install OSC (with the MySQL setting you should have defined when you set it up with) it will setup the database structure and load default settings and data - INTO MySQL. This can then be used in OSC.... Host is "localhost" or use "127.0.0.1" and use the database user ID and password (and if you already created a blank database name - you will need that - or the user ID your going to use must have "create" database permissions) you had setup in MySQL. Note: the SQL dump file on a windows machine may have to be moved to c:\install\ or load it manually in your MySQL admin tool (like phpmyadmin). Good Luck |
