OSCommerce 2.2 credit class installation

Hi there

Im kind of new to all this.... I am looking to install the credit class and gift voucher on to my site. I know which version i need now but i am not sure how to install and get it live. Can someone please tell me the steps i need to go through and does the site need to come off live and then republished or something. Or can i just install it to the site whilst live. Is this a simple thing to do. Please can someone talk me through it... Yes i know im special!!! thanks guys really appreciate it!

oscmax has those mod pre installed

if you don't know what your doing or don't know the basics of php. don't try to do it your self it will kill the shop.

if you still want to try it make a backup off your shop and database

than download the mods you want and read the readme file.
don't just copy files on to your server if you don't know if there are all ready mods installed.

ok. So how do i create a backup of the database. I have gone to the database back up and there is a url. I get this error message that says

Error: Backup directory does not exist. Please set this in configure.php.

Someone said the other day that i could back up my database and get oscmax. How would i go about this... would i have to redesign the whole site and then upload the old database. How easy is the new cmax! im not completely stupid but this is the first time im using this sort of cms. what would you do. is oscmax free as well. cheers

oscmax is a very expensive cms just kidding its free

and i don't have any experience with oscommerce database files
but oscmax is a pimpt up version off oscommerce so it should be possible.

If it one of mine - read the text files.

Options:
Unmodified store - copy over
Modded - use a file compare tool
Heavily modded - hire a programmer.
