email option missing

Hello,
I've looked all over the web for some information on this subject but it seems as I am the only one with this problem.
I have an osc and none of my forms are sending emails; not the contact page neither the orders nor the emails to the customers.
I've notice I'm missing an option in the admin<Email options<
SEND E MAILS does not appear. I don't see the line there. Only -email transport method, -email linefeeds, -use mime html when sending emails, --verify email addresses through DNS.
The last line -send emails- is missing. I believe this is why I am not receiving any emails. Can someone tell me how to see this line, which file to modifie, is it a problem coming from the database? this is the original file and I don't have any other to use to fix this problem......Please help me!!! thanks!

do u use send mail or smtp.

not every web host allows send mail

u can use smpt in stead

smtp through the authentication smtp server

I tried both SMTP and Sendmail but none of them works. I can send email through the admin panel but the contact us and order are not being send to neither me or the customer.
In the admin panel, I have a line missing under EMAIL OPTION. The option 'SEND E-MAILS.......TRUE/FALSE' is not visible and I believe this could be the problem. (See print screen)
Does anyone knows how to have the line 'SEND E-MAiL' show in the admin panel?
I'm a newbie and I'm not familiar at all with the database.....Please Help !!!!
