oscmax 2 rc3 installed, almost..

I'm trying to set up a local install. The install went along smoothly after I added the Register Globals Easy Contrib. Everything seemed fine, I logged into the Admin, no problem. But the store is another issue. I get the following error:

It's been a few years since I've used Max, but if I remember correctly, the part mentioning "bts_select" is something to do with templates?
I've looked here and googled, but can't seem to find an answer.
My local setup is as follows:
linux 2.6.22
apache 2.2.3
php 5.2
mysql 5.0.32

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I should add that I also have a local install of straight up oscommerce that's working perfectly.
I'd really like to use osmax instead though..

As your error message says:

by setting session.bug_compat_42 or session.bug_compat_warn to off

So do as the message suggests and add that to your .htaccess file.

Ok I've tried adding several variations of said commands in .htaccess neither worked.
php_flag session.bug_compat_warn off
php_value session.bug_compat_warn 0

No idea. I have never seen this issue before.

How about posting your server specs? PHP settings? Web Server?
