Default Cannot access anything

Downloaded, unzipped, uploaded, set permissions properly 3 times. Deleted all files each time before reload. Verified that minimum requirements are WELL met on server. Verified database information and operation. Yes, I uploaded in ascii mode.

Still cannot even install it. I keep getting the following error when going to: http://cygnasystems.com/catalog/install/index.php.

The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request. The script had an error or it did not produce any output. If there was an error, you should be able to see it in the error log.
Here is the error log info:

Tried installing an .htaccess file in the upper directory for error reporting as mentioned in a previous post. That shut the whole thing down. Couldn't even get to my control panel.

This appears to be an impressive piece of software if it would only work. I'm presebtly installing it one more time in case someone wants to take a look at it.

I'd appreciate anyone's input as I would really like to use it after investing two 12 hour days.
