Default Arrghhhhh

I want to serve the catalog from the root of the site url so that my catalog will be visible through:

www.whatever_I_want.com

and not through /catalog

So I have uploaded a file structure with all the catalog files in the www or public_html folder on the server with admin etc folders in the same location.

When I try to go through the install procedure, it says that the .sql file does not exist.

The field I can't seem to sort is the web server root directory, I have placed many things in this field, but I think either empty or with a single /
would do the trick

I have the catalog directory as / and admin dir as /admin/

My database server is localhost.

Does anyone have an idea as to why I cannot connect to the database.

Did you upload the install dir to the public_html dir too? It needs to be there...
