Cool columns slipping out of place on IE/Safari

I have a site that I've created, and the columns just started resizing (enlarging themselves) and breaking the frame of the page in IE and Safari (looks perfect in Firefox and Netscape), causing text and the column boxes to float out into space.

Has anyone ever experienced this, and has anyone found a solution? This is the fifth osCommerce site I've installed, and I've never run into this.

Thanks up front,
gheffron

P.S. I've tried two solutions I found on forums: one involving inserting a DIV tag that limits width into the template, and one which said to tweak the table width on the template (to "800px" instead of "100%"). Neither worked.

Cool Re: columns slipping out of place on IE/Safari

I figured it out! After hassling with a complete re-install, I experimented with turning off the "Image Required" setting within the Configuration: Images menu. Worked like a charm!

It turns up that the blank/broken/default images that the system inserts into products that don't have images are wider than the boxes, and throw everything out of place. My clients have been entering products without images and are planning to add them once they purchase Photoshop. Since there were many products with no image, the system was constantly adding in blank/broken/default images that were too wide.

Hope this is helpful to someone someday,
gheffron

In the future, if you are having visual/design/layout issues, you will get more interest if you post a link to the site in question or post a screenshot of the problem. Glad you sorted that out.
