| Hi everyone ! I have a site, that has been working great ! However :S Now I'm having quite the emergency seen as I completely lost my site for an hour+ so far ! I had tried to add "www.mysite.com" instead of "http\\mysite.com" I looked on forums and it said to change the configure.php files. the moment I did, I recieved this error : "Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user 'nobody'@'localhost' (using password: NO) in /home/mysite/public_html/catalog/includes/functions/database.php on line 19 Unable to connect to database server!" PLEASE PLEASE HELP ! I had copied back to my server the same files exactly as they were before I changed them, and it's no turning back situation ! I don't know what to do and my hair is changing to white ! thanks so much in advance! Red. |

| First, The error has nothing to do with changing the url. You must have deleted the database settings. A nice trick is to look in the second configure.php file for the info. View the catalog/admin/includes/configure.php file and copy the database information only from that file to your catalog/includes/configure.php file. That should get you back in business. One note - the admin configure.php file is NOT interchangeable with the catalog configure.php file, so do not copy the entire thing... Just the database connection info.

| Well, I managed to fix the problem, indeed after filling the information. it's weird though, seen as I had the site working 100% fine for few monthes now, while the configure.php was empty of the above required information. Now everything works after I filled in the data base etc... but it was empty till now ! only after I tried chaning it to www.mysite.com did the problems start. I didn't delete or add anything. doesn't matter though, it's working and I thank you for your time |

| osCMax/osCommerce simply cannot work ever without those settings. They were set and when your site stopped working, they were somehow un-set in the configure.php file. Trust me, your configure.php file absolutely, positively, 100% for sure initially had those values set. When you edited the configure php file, you somehow removed the values. There are few things in this world I can be 100% sure about, but this is one of 'em. osCMax/osCommerce will not ever, ever, ever, ever work without those settings. If it was working they were set.
