Advice needed

Hello everyone,

I am new to OsCommerce. I have developed a website using Macromedia's Dreamweaver and I am very pleased with how it looks. Now I am wanting to add some "buy now" buttons to my items I have for sale and have it tie into the OsCommerce software that is available to me from my webhost provider.

I have looked through the threads here and can't seem to find this exact problem discusssed.

All the tutorials I see seem to indicate that OsCommerce is to be used "off the shelf" style. I can't find out how to just hook it up to an existing website.

Has anyone successfully done this? I do have a paypal account, but I don't want "paypal" written all over my "buy now" buttons.

That is not how osCommerce works. It is a fully integrated shopping cart/inventory management system.

You should edit the design of osCommerce to match your dreamweaver site design. Then you create your product pages in osCommerce and instead of linking with buy now buttons, you have a standalone e-commerce site that matches and fully integrates with your non-ecommerce pages.

If all you want is a few buy now buttons that go to a cc-processor, look for a simpler solution, as osCommerce is built to handle all site functions, multiple payment options, shipping options, etc.

If you use paypal, you can simply substitute your own 'Buy now' graphic for theirs, and have it still redirect to the paypal site.
