Default OSCmax Version/Upgrade Question - plus a couple of problems

I have a client running OSCMAX but I setup this store quite a while back.
Her index files lists this as the version:
index.php,v 1.4.2.1 2005/06/12 00:03:42 Michael Sasek Exp
Could someone PLEASE tell me exactly what Rev this is and what I need to upgrade her to? The original code has been moderatley modifed but I need to get this done quickly with minimal hassels.

I am worried about 2 things that are happening with her store and both started not to long ago.

#1: Orders are being processed correctly and the customer is being charged correctly, but about 50% of the orders do not get emailed to either her or me - so I have to go back into the admin to figure out what was purchased and where to send it.

#2: I am getting hundreds of bounce back emails with the originating email address being something like kjyterdh@store1.com, werw@store2.com and yhjtr@store3.com. 1 of the stores is OSCMax - I think the other 2 are regular oscommerce stores.

#3: Store #2 (standard OSC v 1.1 2003/06/11 17:37:59) is only recieving 2 out of 5 orders via email AND the orders that we don't get emails for ARE NOT being recorded in the database BUT the customers ARE being billed. Store #3 is not really being used right now so I don't know the status on that (original owner deceased - new owner not using it yet)

I am running apache linux on a standalone server but each domain is virtual host.

I have also noticed a compromise of my box and think it could be because of a security hole with these 3 stores.

Sorry for the long winded description - I just need any advice possible in a hurry.

Thanks in advance

Default Upgrade from MS2MAX 1.5.5

I also have a client with an old (very old!!) version. The copyright/version in the footer of the front page states "Powered by MS2_MAX 1.5.5". Is it feasible to upgrade from this version and, if so, which path can he adopt?
