CSV-SQL question

I have a bookstore with hundreds of books in the inventory and am looking for the most efficient way to update the inventory. Going into SQL file is too scary; I prefer to work with .csv file. Would this work: 1) delete the SQL file; 2) Add a few books to the inventory manually via the Admin area; 3) download a .csv file via Easy Populate, then populate the csv file with new inventory and upload with Easy Populate. Any help or suggestions appreciated.
