Easy Populate fails

We upgraded our PHP version several months ago to 5.2, everything was still working but now all of a sudden we get this error while trying to upload new products ...

There's the clue - ignore the rest! Change permissions, probably to 755 but if on a crappy host try 777 but only if 755 doesn't work.
