Default Installation stops at step two

Hello,

I am trying to install OSCMAX2.2 and I ran the installation script following the instructions but I can not get past step two. I checked the check boxes for Install Database and Save configuration Values in the Install.php page but when I click the continue button I stay on the same page with this URL: http://mydomain/catalog/install/install.php?step=2.
I am installing the OSCMAX on the local server. Please if anyone knows the cause for this provide some help.

Thanks

Are you getting any error message regarding register globals. On a local install they will need to be turned off in php.ini

Also here is a link with a bunch of install info that may help find your solution

PHP 5?

In php.ini look for:
register_long_arrays = Off

Change to
register_long_arrays = On
