Delete language and currency from main page...

I read in a prior post about modifying /catalog/include/column_right.php to get rid of the language and currency option from the main page and from other pages. The answer was basically comment out the area with //. I commented out tons of parts of that file and could not get it to get rid of those options. Does anyone have a detailed way of doing this? I don't really understand what I should comment out or delete. I tried commenting out the areas that mentioned currency and languages in several different ways and even went as far as deleting them, I still can't figure out how to get rid of that section. The easiest solution for me of course is switching the British flag for the US flag, but I don't want my site to be associated with any flag, just an English language site with US$ as the currency (PayPal and most other payment methods do the currency exchange for me). How do I get rid of this section and please provide details? Thanks.

What you read was for standard osCommerce. For osCMax, you just login to your admin panel, go to the Infobox admin section and click the red 'off' icon next to the boxes you want to turn off.

My research wasn't that preliminary. I actually did search the oscommerce site and I did uninstall the original script a while back, but my information was from here Default Language question

But of course your information worked. It looks like a big change between 1.7 and 2.2. Thanks. Just for that, it's encouragement enough to upgrade from another version.

Also are those URLs I gave because of VBSEO? I just copy and pasted links and they turned into words with links. If they are because of VBSEO, I've been underestimating them for a long time and it might even be worth it.
