Getting a "HTTP 404 Not Found" error when clicking products or categories

I have begun familiarizing myself with OSMax 2.0, and have added a few test products and categories to experiment with. I can go to my catalog root or any of the information pages just fine, but when I click on a product or category I get a 404 error.
I am not sure why this is suddenly happening, as it was working fine when I started testing the Max store about 2 months ago. I have not installed any contribs as of yet.

You problably turned on seo urls or search engine safe urls and did not add the rewrite rules to the .htaccess file, or you added the rewrite rules without turning on the mod or, you may have turned on the seo urls mod and now need to clear the seo url cache to get them to kick in.

Of course without an actual url or more details I cannot be sure about it.

Here's an update to my issue. I found that changing the SEO URL type to "cName" instead of "Rewrite" allows the products & categories to show. Toggling the setting back to "Rewrite" causes the error again. I prefer using "Rewrite", and can't figure out why this suddenly does not work, as it was fine when I first installed OSMax.. Could it be a directory rights issue?

I look forward to hearing input from anyone regarding this issue.
