Please help with an error

hi i just downloaded oscmax 2.2 and i got to the install screen but on the first step which is database import i enter the info and continue i get this error message

A test connection made to the database was NOT successful.
The error message returned is:
Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client
Please click on the Back button below to review your database server settings.
If you require help with your database server settings, please consult your hosting company.



my host supports mysql, im with Internet Domain Name Registration, Domain Transfers. Your domain name search starts here.. im not sure how i would go about to correct this problem or how to upgrade mysql from the host? thanks, any help is appreciated

Also if you are using a c-panel host cpanel adds your account name before your database name you came up with when you created your database.

so if you look under my sql and you named your database widgets it will actually be youraccountname_widgets that would have to be entered to get a successful connection
