installation trouble

since having my ssl and dedicated ip installed on my domain hosting package - i can no longer install oscmax 2 rc3 - up till that point i was able to do it and uninstall it 3-4 times as trial runs but for some reason only smart ftp and not cute ftp will upload the catalog directory and files and when there and i try and access www.planet-moto.co.uk/catalog/install/index.php - i get a 500 Internal Server Error - my hosting company have told me that i can't have it due to a bug problem (even though it worked for me 4 times before) and have offered me the preinstalled script of
v2.2ms2-060817

Firstly - is there any real difference between the two and could i upgrade the 2.2ms-2 to 2 rc3 what are my best options and do you know why I may be having these problems

that worked and have managed to install but cant log into admin as it doesn't recognise the default user + password

this is becoming such a strain now ?

Is it telling you that you are entering an invalid login or is it just looping back to the login screen with no error... Specifics please.

I had a problem with this. If you disable ssl for admin it will let you in.
Don't know why it won't work never did find a cue.

i found that setiing the permissions for install using the server control panel worked better than setting the permissions using an ftp client. Also search the bug fixes for the 500 internal error situation and if i remember what else we did to sort it i will post it here.
