Spam being sent from my site mailbox

I occasionally see spam sent from my email address in my own inbox. My host marks it as spam and I direct it straight into my deleted items. I feel sure I did all the security updates this time last year and have just briefly checked a couple to be sure. The code has been commented to confirm I did the work.

Any idea why this is happening please?

Have you confirmed through the headers that it is actually coming from your server and not simply spoofing your address...

I will check next time one arrives. I've deleted previous ones so can't answer your question. Thanks for pointing out what could be the obvious solution.
Is there anything I can do to stop it if this is what is happening?

Nope. That is why everyone hates spam so much. There is no way to stop anyone from spoofing your email.

I had another one yesterday and it IS being sent from my mailbox. The headers confirm this. Any advice?

I would like to actually see the headers myself before spending any time on this. PM them to me and I will take a look.

If mail is being sent via your mailbox, you should change your password to the account first.
