    Default Processing Orders & shipping

I am using 2.0 with Authorize.Net and Fed-Ex contributions active. These will probably be stupid questions but.

The order seemed to go through Authorize.Net, but the Address isnt confirmed. And I see no screen like PayPal where a user signed up. So I take it all orders are basiically 'unconfirmed'? Ship and hope Authorize.Net doesnt take back the money like paypal does?

I got Fed-Ex, Ups and Postal all in there. When I made my test Order, It did everything correct. But when I went into Orders in OSMAX to ship, first is that the correct way to fulfill an order?

If it is, then in the OCSMAX ORDER screen it keeps FED-EX ground in the shipping method drop down box, instead of UPS Media rate. Which the OCSMAX invoice shows. I want to ship it to complete the order (I think right?) But IF I do, it will go Fed-EX instead of Postal. Is this a bug or just an incorrect setting.

Thank you folks for helping a blind man see.

Default RE: Processing Orders & shipping

ok I am helping my brother with the same issue. First you must realize PayPal and Authorize.net are TWO different kinds of beasts.

First PayPal controls the payment from begining to end, like my brother found out, someone can create phony ebay IDs with no history. PayPal holds the money, then refunds the money. Fortunately, He did not send any of these items. Then PayPal locked him out when he didnt fall for the scam 18 laptops.

Authorize is like you have a CC swiper in your place of business, all its going to tell you is if the CC is authorized or not. Your customers should be using the MY ACCOUNT link in ocsMax, so they have a password. There are many ways to verify addresses, and if youre worried, verify the address.

If its a bogus card, Authorize will deny payment, simple as that. Its your job to tell the customer he has been denied, at any rate, oscMax wont allow the sale to go to completion anyway.

There is a process if the person gets damaged goods, or rejects the package at the door and wants a refund. You should tell them THEY MUST REFUSE DELIEVERY.

Also in Authorize.net site, they have levels in which the credit card can be declined. Try their live chat, they helped me out quite a bit. But its not hard.

With Authorize, you are in full control of what happens. Authorize can freeze your account if you violate a rule, But PayPal gives users no reason for their arbitrary ways.
I also had some problems with a LinkPoint reseller.

So just be careful, and watchful. oscMax has packing slips and invioces in the /store/admin as well. You have to do more work. Its worth it over a big company that is too fickle.
