Default How to Secure a Oscommerce Site?

I'm trying to find the easiest and least complicated way to get secure my site and in essence get rid of this error

Warning: Installation directory exists at: /kunden/homepages/20/d181797289/htdocs/shop/install. Please remove this directory for security reasons.

Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /kunden/homepages/20/d181797289/htdocs/shop/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file.

I've been trying for the past week to do this.

HELP!!!!

Thanks, Evette

Default RE: How to Secure a Oscommerce Site?

Very simple:

Delete the /shop/install directory completely.

And restrict the permissions on configure.php:

chmod 444 configure.php
