Default Applying the RC2 to RC3 Patch

    Hello
I've been trying to apply the RC2 to RC3 patch. But due to the nature of my website, i have been trying to do this using the winmerge

Is it possible for the developer to given the diferences ina txt file, like you did for the patch 051112.

May be also give a short explanation of the changes that has been implemented in RC3 from RC2

Being a web developer i understand these are boring and time consuming works....but 3/4 is done lets finish off the 1/4 of it too

Default RE: Applying the RC2 to RC3 Patch

I create that MAX version of the 051112 patch file. Most people have a hard time following the instructions. The RC2 to RC3 should work fine if you just copy over the files - UNLESS you modified the raw code to add/remove something else.

When I created the RC2 to RC3 (and the RC1 to RC2 also) was to isolate only the files changed/added. I use Beyond Compare (not WinMerge). I was able to update most sites in 1 hour or less.

Just remember if you MODIFY code to COMMENT it within your code (you don't have to comment anything in your template directory as it should be in its own template subdirectory that you create with any changed files from the fall back if you need to change anything - you did do this-correct?) - you see allot of my comments in MAX where code was added or changed. That way applying patches like this you can just go though just these files and view only lines that changed/added/remove. Then it is easier to copy the changed parts over - providing there is none of your added or changed code within the new OSCMAX code that can conflict - you can just copy the files on top and your done.

Having said that - BACKUP your files. THERE IS NO CHANGES TO THE DATABASE and no need to update/install the installation directory for existing sites.
