    Default can't access create_account.php

I have had a smooth install, linking to DB running PHP, set all the right permissions on post install, even changed layout but I can't get access to create_account.php from the main page (right column link) 'create an account' the message is the bog standard explorer:-
    --------------------------------------------------------------------
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

    Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
    The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

    What you can try:
    Diagnose Connection Problems

    More information

This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:

    Internet connectivity has been lost.
    The website is temporarily unavailable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.
If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section.

    For offline users

You can still view subscribed feeds and some recently viewed webpages.
    To view subscribed feeds

Click the Favorites Center button , click Feeds, and then click the feed you want to view.

To view recently visited webpages (might not work on all pages)

Click Tools , and then click Work Offline.
Click the Favorites Center button , click History, and then click the page you want to view.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------
I can confirm that when I try to access the url changes from http to https. I have cookies switched on on my browser, not sure what to try next? Running on Linux. I am able to create an account from within admin.

    thanks.

Do you have ssl enabled in osCMax and on your server? If it is not installed on your server (you need to compile apache and php with ssl support) then disable it in osCMax (turn off SSL/HTTPS in the configure.php file.)

My Linux setup is such that the provider only has SSL on windows not on the Linux but they say I can save the pages to this server and it will work but I can't see how without alot of path changing throughout the site?

That is why it is not working. Just disable ssl for now to see if it works without it...

I have changed the configure.php to read 'ENABLE_SSL' false. This allows me to see the pages that I could not see before but won't this mean that the site will have no secure transactions? If this is true then I want to fix this as I wish to offer customers secure transaction, how can I do this? Thanks

    Hi,

That step was needed to demonstrate to you that your server's ssl is not set up correctly. Now you need to go to your host and have them set up ssl for your domain, which also means you will need to purchase a SSL certificate. Then you can enable it.

The package I have with my host includes SSL certificate but they only run this on windows. The is so confusing. I originally set up on windows and they advised that they could only run OSC on the linux environment so I had to strart from scratch and now I find out that they don't have SSL configured on there linux.

Thanks for all your help I shall go back and ask if they can recompile their linux config to include ssl.
